Fitness content! I've been hanging on to this tip for a lull in my metal posting schedule. It's hard to exist in the world today and not hear a lot about protein. As the hot macronutrient of the moment, every company out there wants you to believe that their product qualifies as high protein. Many products genuinely qualify. Many others, however, are faking it. Here's a quick tip to help verify if the food you're considering is actually providing the usable protein claims: the percent daily value on the label should be twice the grams of protein in the product. In other words, if the daily percentage says 40%, then it should have 20g of protein. If the percentage and grams don't line up, then there's protein in the product that your body can't actually use to build muscle. The short video above explains the science.
