It's Friday, and that means new music - or old new music, in one case. I've got a short list this week, as several of the albums I checked out didn't really click with me. On the plus side, only bangers await after the jump. 

We're starting off with a banger. Wormwood in the Veins of the World is a new EP from Oslo-based blackened post-metal band Feversea. This EP is apparently material that didn't make it onto the band's debut album, which released last year. I haven't heard that album, but I'm definitely going to check it out now based on the strength of this release. Furious and punchy with a nice male/female vocal pairing, these four tracks all all exactly up my alley. Highly recommended. 

Up next is some galactic black metal by Sweden's Lightlorn. The Ebb and Flow of the Galactic Tides isn't as out there as say, Oransisi Pazuzu, but still has some dreamy, spacey vibes to pair with the blast beats. 

Desert Collider (Not to be confused with Dessert Collider) hails from Italy and Generation Ship: Endless Drift Through Infinity is their debut album. As the name implies, this is some classic desert rock/heavy psych. Lots of fuzz, lots of riffs, lots of fun. 

Finally, here's a "new" release by one of the greatest of all time, Fugazi. Albini Sessions (Benefit for Letters Charity contains the previously unreleased mixes from the band's recording session with the legendary Steve Albini during the In on The Killtaker sessions. The band's portion of the sales from this digital-only release will benefit Letters Charity, an organization important to the Albini family. From the album description: "Letters Charity is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use Art as a conduit to transform passive compassion into immediate assistance through the distribution of money given, without expectation or judgment, directly to families experiencing poverty."
