The Fitness Fail streak has been broken.
Not to jinx myself, but this last week I made it back into the gym five days in a row to lift. I restarted week 1 of Jeff Nippard's Bodybuilding Transformation System - after three weeks away for various reasons, it felt wiser to start over rather than pick up where I left off. I was only a few weeks into my last run anyway. Plus, I also managed to sneak in three short morning cardio sessions before work. I'm putting it out there publicly to help ensure that I don't get off track again.
As we all know, it is way too easy to get knocked out of an exercise habit. I've got a pretty good thing going in that I have a gym at work, and have structured my days in a way that I'm able to use it during my lunch break. Of course, when an especially busy period at work hits, gym sessions are first thing to go. That's exactly what happened last week. I was far too busy covering for a coworker on vacation to make it in, and the week before that I was on vacation myself.
Next Monday is a holiday, so I won't be getting into the gym at work that day. Fortunately, I should be able to complete most of my prescribed workout at home with my adjustable dumbbells and bench. Sadly, I won't have access to my beloved work cable machine, pictured above. Don't get me wrong, I love my free weights. But working Jeff Nippard's programs have opened my eyes to some great exercises that can only be performed with a cable machine. I'll share one of my favorites below, the Baysian cable curl - check it out at 10:30 in this video.
